FTP (File Transfer Protocol) Installation & Create FTP site

WHAT IS FTP (File Transfer Protocol) & Used for which purpose :-


File Transfer Protocol is used to download & upload a files in the Network .FTP has very high data transfer rate and it works on 20 & 21 number port.

Requirements To Install FTP Are :-

1. Administrative rights.
2. Window Server 2003 or 2008.
3. Shared folder with multiple software.
4. FTP roles must be installed.
5. Separate IP to the FTP server.

How To Install FTP (File Transfer Protocol) :-

First click on start /Administrative tools/Server manager

Expand roles and select web server IIS & right click on it and select add role services

Select the two check box 1st IIS & 2nd Ftp server and hit next

Now click on install button and after installation click close

How To Create FTP Sites ?

Start / Administrative Tools / Internet Information Services

Select your local server and right click on it  and select Add FTP sites

Give Site Name eg - ftp.rahul.com and give physical path of site file

Now Assign IP for Ftp site and choice allow ssl and hit next as given above pix

Select Anonymous and now expand container and select anonymous users & select rear ,write check box
